It is relatively easy to produce a decent rap piece. Rap also has long history as political culture. Whether people want feminist development or action against brutal capitalism—rap there. Critical theory and philosophy have always been part of rap. In the 1990s MC Solaar quoted Umberto Eco Jacques Derrida. Today, Princess Nokia rhymes on bell hooks. No other genre popular music can come up with strong critical theory. We not, though, yet discussed way lyrics themselves could be thought vernacular philosophy. Besides attempting do this, Ryynänen asks why philosophers theorists not recognize versions their practice, presenting some ways works for social change.
